Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. In her graduate recital, Linda Marie Burns (MFA2, Voice Arts) partners 600 years of female-composed music with design and dance as she unpacks mythologies surrounding sex and power in a post #MeToo world. Inspired by Libby Larsen’s song cycle Try Me, Good King: Last Words of the Wives of Henry VIII, Try Me. spans genres, styles and centuries as it examines toxic masculinity and the circular nature of history.
